Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note
Hi guys,
Need your advise here. I have an opportunity to pick used Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note for 400$.
http://basspedals.netai.net/noflash.html
Its retail price is 500$ but considering the delivery charges the offer is not bad. I wonder if that unit would work with C2 and if 13 pedals would be sufficient to cover the organ foot work needs.

Re: Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note
I regularily use a 17 note studio logic and a Elka 18 pedal.
I have plated 13 note as well.
You have to be more creative with 13 notes.
Depends on what you play.
Walkingbass is easier solved in some keys with 17/18 notes.
25 is imo overkill but nice to have

Thanks! Studiologic MP-117 Looks pretty good. I wonder why it costs 2 times less the pedals from Hammond and Rolland. Is there any functionality it's missing?

Re: Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note
It is not built as solidly as the Hammonds
Nord had 27 pedal model 1500€ roghly.
I have made the white keys longer on mine. The whithe keys have wooden pieces that are screwed on so making longer ones was easy.
Mine are 27 cmbut i think 25 or 23 would work
You can se them in the video below

Re: Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note
I've got the older 20 note Hammond set (XPK200 or something like that.) It is based on the spinet-sized pedals, and extending the white notes for proper heel playing would be great. I like both the Hammond pedal-drawbar and "synth bass" sounds on the C2.
The problem comes if I want to switch from a left-foot bass (synth-bass with sustain) to a left-hand bass with pedal "taps". Can't use "synth-bass" for that. To switch out of "synth-bass" is a two-handed operation involving the "shift" key, and if I time it wrong, I switch organ modes. The only answer I've found is to put the same settings on two consecutive program numbers, one with "synth-bass" one without. Still clumsy, and their can be hang problems. Remember the "panic" button switches the lower manual, not the pedals.
flmc59, do you know why Hammond didn't have any pedal sustain on the 25-pedal console models (A-100, B-3 etc.)? I've never been able to figure that out. The spinets had it (and pedal legato) but not the consoles. For walking left-foot basslines, sustain would have helped.
Every other electronic organ Lowery, Wurlitzer, Thomas, Conn, had pedal sustain. I've never understood why Hammond felt it wasn't necessary on the console models. They got it, I might add, in the post-tonewheel days.

Re: Pedals MIDI Taurus EP-PRO 13 note
I went to the MIDI Taurus site. Those are the most reasonably priced pedal sets I've ever seen! They are, to my knowledge, less than half of what Hammond and Roland want, and if I'm not mistaken, a lot cheaper than Elka pedals.
And they seem to have a variety of pedal-note shapes and styles, something I've never seen before.
