Post by scho0768 »

Hi all,
I've got my custom PK27 for sale. The pedals and chassis were extended 6" for heel toe playing.

Was it really necessary to modify the pedal length? Do you still have the original pieces?

I have large feet so yes it was necessary for me. Also true heel toe playing sometimes requires gliding.

The sale would include the original wood pieces; however, the chassis has also been extended to match.

Did you modify so the hinge is at the back end?

The mechanism of the pedals has not been modified in any way. The modification was to create new "white keys" that were 6" longer and then to extend the frame by a corresponding 6" to match.

Remember that the stock PK27 hinges from the front of the pedal where traditional pedal units hinge from the rear. In my opinion this is the strong point of the PK27 because there's no noticable difference between hinging locations. But with the front hinging design one can save lots of additional weight and space. Even with the additon of 6" to the stock PK27 the pedalboard is still very compact for a full pedalboard.
