C2D leslie sim vs Ventilator comparison?

Post by hawkan2580 »

I know taste is one subjective matter, but has anyone done a comparison between the build in sims and the neo ventilator? If so, what is your impressions...

Also, do anyone know if the nord halfmoon switch would work with the ventilator... IE, plug straight in and used instead of their remote ... ?

I have original B3 with 122 Leslie, Electro 4D (same new organ engine as C2D) and a Ventilator. Here is my very quick verdict, not any kind of scientific analysis, just from what I can hear immediatelly.

Ventilator's has a bit stronger effect, a bit more nasal sound, like listening through a tube. Ventilator also has a bit more muddled sound, like with a bit of chorus in it.

NE4D simulation is still strong, yet less invasive, less colored, less mushy, more clear.

So for me, E4D leslie is a winner. I don't expect anyone would need Ventilator with E4D. I am selling my now.

Anyway, both simulations are very good and both are sounding better than the squeaky, leaky original on low volume (the volume we normally use in normal living room studio situation). But once you crank up the old machinery to its cruising volume... what happens is the magic beyond any digital simulation. Ooops!
