Hi Guys, Nord electro 4 owner here.

I dont know if its just me, but my the filter section on Velocity controlled dynamics part (found on sample preset tab) is functioning in a opposite way, like it was actually reversed. The more hard i play less brightness it becomes. Anyone guess whats going on? Anyone has the same problem?

I'm sampling a very rhythmic synth sound and I'm trying to make a loop that is 170bpm so it needs to be 705.88ms long. (705.882353 ideally :D )
The sample editor seems to only move in increments of .03ms, is there any way to do this? I know it seems fussy but at the moment the loop looses sync after about 8 bars.

0.023 MS is one sample at 44.1 kHz. There really is no point in making it any more precise.

If you can hear a rhythmic pattern move off-phase by one sample that would be 44 cycles for one millisecond. If you can hear that, you should be making a *loooot* of money in some testing facility somewhere.

Aha, that makes sense. I wondered if it was something to do with the sample rate but did the maths wrong:)
Any tips for making it loop properly? I have the loop length as 705.87ms or 705.90 and when I play it along with a 170bpm drum beat it looses sync after 16 bars or so. What could I be doing wrong? The crossfade doesn't add to the loop time does it? This is the first sample I've made for the nord.

I got confused with similar subjects in two threads... I attempted to answer to the problem reported here of synchronising loops in this other post:

Hi,

I would realy like to see loop point import from WAV sample chunk info. I have a lot of custom samples made that way that loop information is embedded in WAV and I would like to just import all those samples straight in and use them as they are.

Other option would be to support import of SF2 or some other sample format.

Here is one sample with embedded loop points:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GzFy-U ... sp=sharing

(To test this file you must download it and open with soundforge, wavosaur or some other wav editor that supports loop import from wav)

I'm really supprised that was not done yet...

That would be very good. In the mean time, can the loop start and end points or loop length be extracted into a readable form to do it by hand?

Hi,

Of course it is possible to see loop points and length in sample number format in mentioned software, but I have many instruments with samples on all keys so there are too many samples to do them all by hand in nord sample editor... and being developer myself it does not make any sense too :)

I made my own software to cut samples based on peak or RMS threshold with automatic fade IN, automatically detects frequency and creates note naming, create loops (I also use external tools for that too), loop crossfade etc., so for me it looks like someone did not want to spend much time with developing nord sample editor, because most basic functions are not implemented (or someone who is not musician and never tried to work with other sample editors did it...).

If I drag and drop my wav samples in halion, everything works (samples are put on correct key, loop info is extracted...), so I can play them immediately after drag and drop.

For me in era we're living, doing things by hand is not an option. I rather spend time to build a tool than to spend it on such thing.

Lets say I have to make small adjustmens of EQ on samples, then I have to cut and import them and redo all loop points and so on. Sample development cycle is simply too long and it does not work for developing samples. I have Nord Piano 3 for 1.5years and I have not make any sample for this keyboard yet, because of required workflow.
I rather spent money on VSTi and use nord as MIDI keyboard.

My sample (.nsmp) won't convert in the Sample Converter for the Nord Stage 3. It just sits on the "converting" screen never completing. Please help. Thanks!!
