Love the little beastie!

I really like the sound palette that the various timbres offer!! It's exactly what I was looking for. The midi response is very good too. I have an issue with program change messages though. I hooked up the Nord Drum to the thru port of my Monomachine, which passes on the midi from my Octatrack (loving the micro timing with this lightning fast response time over here!) but, and there is a big but (no pun intended) the program number switches back to P 01 for two sixteenth notes just before going back to what I set it to on the "one" of the pattern.

Anybody ?

Hi Darthen,

If I understand you correctly you are sending a drum pattern (just notes) to a program of the ND, but then the ND changes/switches program during the pattern unwantedly?

I don't know the Octatrack, or Monomachine, but I would first check what messages are actually sent to the ND,

maybe you can hook your Octatrack/Monomachine combination up to a computer with MidiOx (to monitor MIDI signals) to see if there are unintended prog changes being sent by your Octatrack/Monomachine combination,

if you are sure that only notes are sent, (so no prog changes or anything else), perhaps you should contact Clavia,

Hi Albert,

I stored the program I want to use on this particular track on number 99 so I effectively send out a program change message to the ND from the Octatrack. But the message I send is for it to switch to P 99, every time the pattern on the Octatrack ends (4 bars) the ND switches back to P 01 for two sixteenth notes and back to P 99 on the start of the pattern so it's not a show-stopper but for a short period the drums sound off.
Hope that is clearer than my original statement... thanks for the idea I will check what messages are sent and get back to you.

Hi Darthen,

Thanks, that's clear, you included a program change to P99, makes sense,

indeed strange that it switches briefly to P01, then back again!

Yes, I think that's the best way to find out, let me know what your findings are..
