How to create a program using sampels

Hi Guys,

Can you suggest me which is the best way to create a program using the sample?

Start from an existent program? initialize a program using the SAMPLE INIT function?

Any particular trick?

You'll become more familiar with the keyboard if you start from the sound init.

It probably depends on the type of sound you want to make. If there's already some sound on the Wave that is somewhat similar to what you want to achieve, you might want to copy that program to a new location and have it use your own sample. You can then tweak the program which might already have usable envelopes, etc.

But to be honest, starting from scratch might be a better idea. It is very enlightening to take an existing program and to play around with the settings. How is it constructed, what determines the sound, etc. I would suggest turning off any active morphing, because that simplifies matters. Playing around with the rate (speed) and amount of LFOs, the filter cut-off and decay/release on the amplitude/filter envelopes is probably a good place to start.

I you have some sound you like in slot A, you could copy it to slot B and tweak it there. It is then really easy to compare the sounds or to play them at the same time. An A-B comparison if you will
