Which Nord product after wrist surgery?

Hi everyone,

I had wrist surgery, and unfortunately I’m no longer able to play a Nord Piano – the key action has become too heavy for me due to the weighting and resistance (it gets too tiring).
I’m now looking for a professional alternative that works well in a band setting. Ideally, I’d need something with a very light key action. Which Nord product has the lowest key resistance? Do you have any recommendations for minimal key resistance? I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

The new electro 7 sounds interesting as the mix of synth, organ and piano would be great. There are different versions of it with different key specifics.

Unfortunately there is no Nord dealer in my area, thats why I'm reaching out today.

The Stage 4 Compact has a wonderful light synth/organ action in addition to the Electro 7 you mentioned.

I also would suggest to give it some time and allow a full recovery before making a decision.

Thank you for your advice. Surgery has been a couple of years ago, after long term training and therapy I know for sure that it won't get better anymore. Will have a look at the Stage 4 Compact as well, thank you!

It’s worth knowing that you can swap the springs on the semi-weighted Nord Stage and Nord Electro models. There is a particular M-Audio controller that uses the same size springs, but with less tension.

I can’t say it’s the best idea to swap springs in a brand new Stage 4, but I would feel better about it if I had bought a used Stage 3 semi-weighted.

If @somersby is about to replace a Nord Piano, a Nord Stage 3 Compact wouldn't be the first solution to come to my mind: A Stage 4 Compact has the triple sensor key action which is reportedly more satisfying for playing piano.

I have no idea if swapping the springs is a good idea in that case, though. I haven't heard of that for the newest generation of Nord gear yet.
