Has anyone EQ'd their Electro Wurlitzer to sound more like the one Ray Charles plays on "What'd I Say" ?
The Wurlie on that track sounds quite unlike any others on record to my ears. Very reedy, ...
ATM I'm just twisting EQ knobs with not a lot of knowledge of what to aim at so any direction is appreciated.
Increased highs and thinned out mids maybe....?

I think this kind of sound is achieved more through the (slight) distortion of an amp model than through EQ settings.

I'd recommend "Twin" or "Small" with a little drive. Bass and treble will automatically be reduced as a result.

The Nord Wurlitzer samples are based on the 200 and 200A models. However, Ray Charles played the earlier 120 model during the recording of “What d’i Say.” These models already had a different sound than the later 200 series models.

Therefore, it won’t be possible to reproduce that exact sound on the Nord 100 percent. Even equalizers and amp simulations can only help to a limited extent.
