A88 MKII with RPU-3 triple pedal not compatible

Situations:

1) Roland A88MKII with RPU-3 MIDI OUT -> MIDI IN nord stage 4
2) Roland A88MKII with RPU-3 MIDI OUT -> MIDI IN RME Fireface UFXIII MIDI OUT -> MIDI IN nord stage 4

Note: I have noticed the same problem in both scenarios. I play on the Roland A88 MKII keys and using it's triple pedal.
My observation: The RPU-3 triple pedal of the Roland A88MKII produces excessive "rumple" sounds in the pianos when on the NS4 the pedal noise is ON. It appears to me that the Roland triple pedal generates an abundance of MIDI data, which is "too" much for the NORD STAGE 4 pianos.

Is there anyone else who has experienced similar observations?

Interesting observation. I didn't think this would happen as the Nord Stage 4 has the Nord Triple Pedal II which should be closer to standard pedals than the original Nord Triple Pedal was.

The same problem appears on the Stage 3 because it expects only 4 stages of pedal values, no continuous values from 0..127. It's not only a Roland pedal: All other pedals don't work from external gear being connected to a Nord Stage 3.

What pedal is your NS4 internally set to? What happens if you select NTP2?

OK.

Can someone record the MIDI data from pressing/releasing the the Nord Triple Pedal II connected to NS4?
I could see what it produces and I could then thin the Roland A88MKII with RPU3 "produced" CC64 MIDI data in my DAW in the fashion of the Nord Triple Pedal :-).

I do not have the Nord triple pedal 2, neither the NTP1.
I have the simple Nord SP1 what is connected to my NS4.

Under Pedal Settings 3/7 I see: Nord SP-1.
If i change this to Nord SP-2, i get a message: “incompatible pedal”.

Under Pedal Settings 4/7 I see:
Left=Una Corda, Mid=Sostenuto, Right=Sustain.
Not connected.

I do not see the possibility to do the change anything to NTP2.
Can you help, please?

I made a decision and recently bought the NTP2 (was available at the local store). After plugging it into my NS4, the annoying "pedal rumble" is gone (“produced” by the Roland A88-MKII+it’s triple pedal), and everything feels really nice and smooth. The pianos with pedal noise sound truly wonderful. And i have several VSTi pianos…

So, I plan to use the NTP2 for sostenuto, unacorda, and sustain, just like a real piano.

Now, my only question is what to do with the SP1.
Or just put it on side…

Wow. I wasn't that sure it would work. Not a very cheap solution, though.

At home, I often use a triple pedal. But not for gigs: a) A triple pedal is too expensive to wear the cable; b) a single pedal is all you need in a band context and is less to carry around.

So, I have both a triple and a single pedal for my Nord Stage as for my Viscount Legend '70s - for home and for stage use.

The shop (they have several Nords in their shop) ensured me that the NTP2 will work and it does.

Good idea about the SP1, indeed i will take it when i play a gig and leave the NTP2 at home, thanks for the advice!
