I'm trying to troubleshoot an output issue on my wife's well-used Electro 2.
When only the RIGHT output is connected, it functions fine.
When only the LEFT output is connected, it works well.
However, when I connect BOTH outputs, the LEFT output sounds normal, but the RIGHT output becomes nearly inaudible and has a high-pitched whine.
Using the "hard pan" output routing that separates the organ and keyboard signals:
If only the LEFT output is connected, the organ plays, but the piano does not.
If only the RIGHT output is connected, the organ plays, but the piano does not.
When BOTH are connected, the organ comes through the LEFT output, while the piano barely plays from the RIGHT, along with the whine.
Regarding the headphone jack: when it's fully plugged in, I only hear sound from the right headphone. If plugged in halfway, I get sound from both. I'm not sure if the audio is stereo, but I suspect it's not. Even in instrument split hard pan mode with the headphones connected, I only hear the organ, with no piano sound.
I've tried different cables and connected it to various devices (preamps, console channels, etc.). I also replaced both output jacks, but sadly that didn’t resolve the issue, although they were a bit damaged.
The Right output jack contains a "switch" that connects the Right Channel to the Left output when the Right Output jack remains empty. This creates the L/Mono output by combining the Left Channel and Right Channel signals.
This creates some behaviour that might confuse a user who is unaware of this function.
From your description, I believe that the right channel is damaged in some way. If the headphones jack works normally (both L&R working), it will isolate the problem to a small amount of circuitry.
The likeliest cause of the failure is the dc-blocking capacitors. If you open the NE2, try to locate capacitors C9, C15 on the main board. They should be located near the output jacks J2, J3. If they're bulging at all they reached their end of life (send pictures if you can to help us confirm this).
The link to the NE2 schematic I usually use isn't working... send me a PM if you do not already have the schematic/service manual.

This one still works Nord Electro 2 Service Manual and Schematics anyway if the problem was the one you outlined, I wonder why the OP says that Organ works also on R output (in both routing modes, when instead in the mode that splits the sections between L/R, it should be inaudible on the R)
