Hi all, I had some time to spare and wanted a midi setup where I could play with friends, perhaps perform. There are some hardware devices that play MIDI files with some slider per instrument groups (like bass) that picks out alle channels with program changes that are in that instrument groups.

I started developing a small tool. First in Ploque Bidule, later as a macOS/windows app. It is starting to get bigger and more mature to a level that I wanted to share this with others. I hope that someone can use is. For Windows there was the Vanbasco midi player, but did not do chords and looked a little bit old fashioned. And is no longer maintained.

Please have a look at my player, 100% free and perhaps you can use it. Very stable release 0.6 does play all files that I have in various versions with lyrics and chords.
Major features:
- plays midi files in setlist
- displays lyrics and chords in a webbrower, so any device, tablet, pc can display them
- volume control per instrument group
- can be controlled via webbrowser, so having a laptop in the save back of stage and an iPad for starting the next song, controlling the volumes and reading lyrics and chords. All via Wifi and remote. Very clean setup.

New update: 0.8.5 with integrated soundfont player. no need for setting up an external player.

Drop in a GM soundfont and a midi file.

It was a big challenge to get this working on macOS en Windows.
Seems to be stable and is tested on several different setups.

New Version 0.9.0 with transpose, chords and lyrics updates, many improvements and soundfont player for playback of midi files
Very stable and tested twice live.
