Hidden Feature: The Pitch Stick is a mechanical tuning fork?

Post by Bjoern M »

Hi everyone,
I noticed a funny detail on my Nord Stage 3. When I let the Pitch Stick snap back (making it vibrate/oscillate physically), it actually produces an acoustic tone that is almost exactly an A.
I’ve never seen this advertised as a feature! ;)
However, I measured it and my Pitch Stick is slightly flat at 436Hz. Does anyone have a mod or a tip on how to physically tune the wooden stick to get it up to concert pitch (440Hz)? Maybe I need to file it down a bit?
Jokes aside—is this just a coincidence on my unit, or do your Pitch Sticks also hum at ~440Hz when you flick them?
Cheers from Germany!

having replaced about 10 benders in various Nords over the course of 25 years...I caution that screwing with these mysterious magic devices can be an expensive proposition!
