What’s the easiest way to do this.. im currently using the out in the stage 3.. does the usb input on stage 3 receive midi??
Ild prefer wireless but will settle for cord if need be
I’ve investigated a few things line the BD1 but that uses the midi out it seems and I couldn’t get it to power up leading me to believe the stage midi out isn’t powered ..
iPad is iPad Pro 12.9 with isn-c port
Thanks in advance , Wayno

Of course the NS3 USB receives MIDI (see specs and manual) so you can connect your iPad Pro to it using a powered usb-c hub with USB-A ports (I use this one
QGEEM 7-IN-1 USB-C but any generic similar one should be OK)
If you want to go wireless instead, you need a MIDI Bluetooth adapter; you can find models both for MIDI DIN and USB, from vendors like Yamaha with MD-BT01 (I have it and it works fine on NS3 MIDI OUT, just mind to connect the right dongle terminal to it i.e. the one with the outgoing arrow) or UD-BT01 (for USB) or CME WIDI or the cheaper M-Vave dongles.

Thanks for reply..
I’ve tried to use the wireless units but I’m using the out on the Nord already to control a sound module mounted in a case ..
I want sure if midi was received through the usb connector on board, I read the manual but thought the definition was still ambiguous… thanks for clearing up.
I’ve found a single cable online, no adaptors etc, (which is neater and important to me), that has usb c on one end and usb b on the other that I can simply connect the 2 … arrives next week ..
thanks ….

In that case, the IN is still free and can be used to receive program changes from the iPad…
If you're using it live, though, I'd always go wired if possible. I've had massive issues with Bluetooth connections dying in crowded venues or places with lots of interference (like in harbour towns or near train lines). USB made those issues go away.

Thanks,
Cable arrived and all works neatly… I’ll stick with single cable like suggested
