How to control E6 effects with a pedal?

Hi I have just bought an electro 6d 61 and am trying to understand how to control effects using the Control Pedal. It's very different to my Stage 4 which has morph assign. I have been through the manual and utube and am still not clear.

Am I right in thinking that the only effects you can control with a pedal are those in Effect 1? I say this because it is the only section of the effects area which has a shift select/button which says Cntrl/ped.

I have effects 1 working after a fashion, but only in effects 1 and it appears to me you have to have the pot of this section up high for it to do anything. I am not sure if this pot controls the mix of signal (wet/dry) or something else.

It seems odd to me that I cannot control Effect 2, or compressor, delay or eq?

I notice that EQ has the option for directing the EQ to organ piano or synth, but I hear the effects are global? It seems to me that EQ can therefore only be applied to one instrument?

I think I am right, in saying there is no way to control the range of the effect - like there is with morph assign?

Still enjoying the Electro, just trying to get clear.

Thank you.
