Nord Sound Manager -transferring sounds

Hi,
I purchased NORD Electro 6D and I have some troubles transferring new pianos with Sound Manager.
I deleted some sounds from a keyboard to free up space. When I transfer the sound (a new piano), it is listed as unused. Do I have to manaully create a patch eachtime and add effects? I don't want to replace any other sound, just to create a new piano from a library.
Thank you
Honzinus

Yes, the Piano library provides only the sampleset, but it is up to you to use it in Programs (unless you use the Substitute option in Nord Sound Manager, when you want to replace an existing piano sample with a new one in all the programs that are currently using it).

Thank you. I switched from Yamaha to NORD. Yamaha has quiet different architecture.

Absolutely, and it’s a good idea to carefully read the user manual for your Nord Electro, it’s well written and provides you a good insight to the architecture, capabilities and handling.
Another source of very good information are
the tutorials and videos of Marc from My Keys To Music, which you can find on YouTube

There are videos/courses dedicated to the Nord Electro 6 which are helpful to understand the basics of architecture and especially software usage

Thank you, I'm starting to get into it
Just one simple question:
I want to delete all upright pianos to free up space. These upright pianos are linked to several other programs. I understant I can use Substitute.
Is there a way to delete them all at once, ie. delete upright pianos and all associated programs? I can delete programs one by one but that's annoying. I also do not want to have a new piano sound in a program that was originally saved with different piano.

No, you have to delete those programs manually (but it is easy, on NSM delete first the Piano Samples, then go to Program tab and sort the programs list by the field that indicates a missing sample, so that they will go to the top and it will be easier to identify and delete them)

Sounds like you are thinking very sample based. To me, piano samples are only part of the recipe and not always the base -- they may also serv to add another topping to a sound that has its base through different effects. In any case, that's the way I get my big band piano sounds.
