NS4: Sound Menu -> Program Levels not fully working

Hi folks,

I found a problem using my NS4 (latest firmware 1.54) and would like to know whether you can confirm that your NS4 is behaving the same:

I wanted to reduce the output levels for all my user programs by -6dB, thus having the ability to boost a layer for soloing if needed. I'm aware that I have to do this program by program, but:

For some programs I cannot change the level using Sound Menu -> Program Levels. To me it seems this is the case whenever a morph is assigned to any level of a layer. For all other programs it works fine.

I don't know if this is intentional by NORD or if it is a bug. I think it is a bug, as also the morphing levels could easily be adapted with the desired program level changes accordingly.

What do you think?

Thanks

Eumel

I think I saw the same thing the other day... my theory was/is: if there is a morph that reduces some level to 0 (actually minus infinity / off), then the feature does not work... as the firmware I guess thinks "I cannot go below minus infinity"...

To me, that is a not strictly speaking a "bug" but a "dumb limitation", as "minus infinity minus 6dB" should be just "minus infinity"... but yeah... would be great to "fix" that, as it is annoying... :)

I contacted Nord support about this issue. Let's see what they say.

It’s probably caused by your morph setting in the program. Try using the level feature, but enable only one layer at a time. This way, you can identify which layer is causing your issue. In the case that it actually is morphing, you might have to edit the level of that layer manually. Or you have to delete the morph.
