Hi guys and gals,

I have an issue where as the sensor for my compression knob has a mind of it's own. It's constantly coming up on my display as if I'm turning the knob to a different level between 0-10. It's very frustrating because it fills the whole display, so on a gig where I'm trying to look what patch I'm on, it can be very off putting! I don't even know where to start to fix something like this. Sometimes it'll be alright for an hour or two, but then it will come back again. Doesn't even matter if I'm on a patch where I'm not using compression, the info still keeps coming up on the screen. Aaaarrrrghhh. Did it get bashed? Did it get wet? Is it something else, I just don't know?

Just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and/or how to go about fixing it?

Replacing it is by far the best way to fix a defective pot, you can also try to clean it by applying some fast full-range rotations or by using a pot cleaner spray (not contact cleaner, mind, has to be specific for pots and sprayed inside), but may just work temporarily.

As a temporary relief, leaving the knob at 0 position should avoid it to change the saved value.

Actually doing the full range rotations have helped a lot, not totally cured but it but a definite improvement. Can't believe I didn't try this before!
