Royal Grand 3D thin notes!

hi,

On Royal Grand 3D (I'm using v6.1 XL) has anyone else noticed that in the octave above middle C (starting on C5), the Db, D, Eb, E notes sound like they come from a different piano? Thin and weak, especially the Eb. On headphones they are also in different stereo position to the notes around them. Really annoying as stands out a mile once you've heard it... I get the same on piano5 and electro6.

Welcome onboard.
That's why I hardly use this sample.
Exagerated nordish approach.
That's a real wastefulness of an otherwise good sample.

Re: Nordish approach

I think there is no piano sample in the Nord piano library that does not have a few odd sounding notes. In some cases, the L version of the sound is less uneven than the XL version. You might try that with the Royal Grand.

And of course, everything depends on the audio chain (including the stage/room). Sometimes Nordish quirks interact with uneven sound generation over the frequency range, be it in speakers or in headphones. This may amplify or counteract the quirks in the sample. In many real life situations the sample quirks are of little relevance IMO.
