Nord Electro 2 won't turn on

Hi all, new user here, thanks in advance for your help!

My Electro 2 stopped turning on. How do I know if it's an issue with the power supply or the board? Or just a faulty power cord even? I tried replacing the fuse and it did not help. When I have it plugged in and turned on there is a popping sound when I have my headphones plugged in, so that makes me think that there's some power getting supplied to the board. I've replaced a key and spring before so I know how to open it up, but I'm just wary of spending money to buy a new power supply if that's not the issue. And if it's a new board I need, phew, those are super expensive! I've read some similar posts but a lot of them mention that the panel would light up and I'm not getting any of that. Just dead. :(

Thanks for any advice on what to try or if you've experienced this before!

I only have some experience repairing an NS2 but they may be similar.

I would get or borrow a digital multimeter. If you open the box and look at the power supply, there should be some indication of voltages on the circuit board. 0v should be any screw that connects to the chasis - put the black probe there and carefully put the red on the voltage points and see if the voltage is present where indicated (usually on the left). There are usually the following voltages +5v, +3v3, +12v and -12v. Be careful, there are mains voltages present on the circuit board - usually on the right. If the voltages are not there then the PSU is faulty, or you didn't turn on the meter :D

Don't, I repeat DON'T do anything, unless you understand what I just said, or if you feel uncomfortable - find an expert!
