Can I take a stock synth part or sample and store it directly to a song part?

Can I take a stock synth part or sample and store it directly to a song part? Ex: preset synth 2:35 M Trilogy and add it to Song 26 part 3? Or do I need to save it into a program bank and then store it to the song? The program banks on my Stage 3 are filling up so I’m asking before I start deleting.

Yes, you can add program 2:35 to Song 26/slot 3.
Song 26/3 is only pointing to a program location, no need to duplicate anything.

Song mode, song 26, Song edit, slot 3, select 2:35, save+save. All done !

I'm not sure if there isn't a misunderstanding. I don't think that you can set a song part directly to a synth preset. Only programs are accessible when editing a song. And only programs cover full control over the settings of a sound. If this was the question.

To clarify:

"Songs" are just lists of programs.
The slots in a Song don't actually store any sounds; they just point at programs.

If you edit anything in the program (mute a part, change the synth, FX, EQ, etc.), that program changes in all the Songs that refer to that program.

Indeed, the question is not clear : what is "stock synth part" (synth presets or program with synth engine on) ? For samples, as they cannot be played without having them in a program, this clears up the song pointing to a "sample".

I read lots of questions on this forum with the wrong (and quite clear) Nord terminology.
