Samples Ranges

Post by MisterXC »

Hello everyone.
I had a question and I couldn't find anything here. If you have anything, please let me know and I'll close the post.

Does anyone know exactly what the sampled layers are in Nord piano tones?

High-quality piano tones usually have around seven sample layers for each note.

For example, it would be something like:
  • [0-20] -> Sample1
  • [21-50] -> Sample2
  • [51-80] -> Sample3
  • ...
  • [100-127] -> SampleX
I wanted to know if anyone has done any tests to find this out.

I'd guess there are piano samples with different numbers of layers. I don't expect a standard. Something between 3..4 layers for the less elaborated samples (older EPs) and 8..12 layers for the most detailed ones. No idea if they blend into each other or not.

Do you want to resample them?

Yes, for personal purpose.
