Hi guys,
when I change/edit a program, store it to a different place and rename it (which needs "Memory off"), the original program is deleted/lost. How can I edit a new program, but save the original one ?
Thanks for your replies !
Siegmut

Re: Edit new program, but save the original one ?
If you use the "Store As" (Shift+Store) and select a new location the original Program will not be "deleted/lost", anyway if you want to stay safe do the opposite:
1) first make a copy ("Store As..") of the original Program you want to modify to a new (empty) location
2) edit it in that new location then just Store and rename it there (without changing location)
Warning: Live Buffers are an exception as they are always modified as soon as you change a parameter (they are like a scratchpad), don't use them to keep settings that you want to be permanent, use Programs for that

Re: Edit new program, but save the original one ?
Thank you, maxpiano, for answering my beginners`question ! I`ve made the mistake drawing the editited program on the Nord Sound Manager with the mouse to the new place. When I just store it to a new place, the original one would remain unedited in its place ...

Re: Edit new program, but save the original one ?
Just FYI, the Nord Sound Manager is not really intended for live edits of programs. It’s more of a librarian type software to move things around, upload programs to your computer, download new samples, renaming, etc. I suggest you do your program editing and saving from the Nord panel.Siegmut Freund wrote: 27 Mar 2025, 16:00 Thank you, maxpiano, for answering my beginners`question !
