How to set RELEASE on synth sound

Hi all. I am new to Nord and have a Stage 4. I am trying to figure out how to stop the SUSTAIN on the built-in Synth sound 2:63 "Turtle Lead." I don't want it to sustain at all. How do I alter the envelope so that the sound ends as soon as I take my finger away from the key? Thanks! (Trying to duplicate that unusual sound from the opening of Livin' On A Prayer.")

Sounds as if you needed to read through the manual. It's short enough and will handle everything you can do (almost at least).

So if I download the manual, the synth is handled starting with p. 27, the envelope starting with p. 32. The latter directly tells you that there is no ADSR envelope, but an ADR envelope instead, meaning that Decay and Sustain are handled in one. But I think that it's the Release setting you are meaning anyway: that will tell how the sound continues if the key is released (see the figure on that page).

I don't think you mean the sustain pedal which would be activated or disabled with [Shift][AuxKB] for the respective layer.

Ditto. You'll also find, depending on the how much the filter decays, that the release time for the filter can vary how much of the filter "closes" before the attack release cuts out the sound. Play around with both.
