Hello,

I have two questions about pedals and effects for my NS3.

I currently have an FX7 pedal with an intermediate rest position and a spring that allows it to fall back on it.
With the Nord, I can adjust the volume from a minimum value (which is necessarily associated with the 0% pedal position) to a maximum value (associated with the pedal fully depressed). I can't adjust the rest position just before the spring to the desired volume.

So I'm looking for a pedal with a return spring that would put the pedal at 0% in the rest position so I can control my volumes and effects.

Do you have a model you can recommend?

And my second question: is it possible to create a glissando effect on an organ sound using morphing? I've tested several settings but haven't found which parameters to modify to achieve this effect.

As far as I know, the FC7 is the only pedal with that sort of boost function (with return spring). There is no such thing for the lower part of the volume - and I wouldn't recommend it if it existed as you often need the full scale of the pedal.

I've never tried to achieve what you are trying to do. But it may work if you use two controllers to morph volume: let's say you use the control pedal for medium to high level and the mod wheel for getting down from medium to 0. It might work.

Expression pedals don't have a return spring to 0 by definition, their purpose is to set a level and keep it; you should learn how to use the expression pedal properly and set it to 0 with your foot when desired or (alternatively) you may use a continuous sustain pedal such as Roland DP10 as an expression pedal (not the bes as difficult to control intermediate values, but you can try).

Then no, you cannot produce an organ glissando (intended as keys/notes) using CtrlPed which can only morph (some) parameters, e.g the organ drawbars, not keys.

You can’t morph note values in the organ section. You can morph pitch in the synth section up or down. I created a program for Foreigner’s song Urgent that is shared on this forum if you search for it, there’s an octave pitch dive that I programmed in the second oscillator controlled via pedal morph and it works pretty well. Not sure if that’s helpful. What are you trying to do with a glissando on organ that you can’t just do with a manual palm smear?

I recommend that you spend time really learning your instrument with hands on, read the manual, and you can also watch a bunch of YouTube tutorials.

The pitch morph is not using an “effect” as the effects section of the instrument doesn’t control note pitch aside from wide phase/vibe things. The pitch morph I use in the program mentioned is morphing the pitch of the second oscillator of the synth section. It’s a deeper synth move that’s available in my program you can find, to save time. Most of the work already done for you.
