Hey guys,

hope you're well. Do you have any thoughts and recommendations for Nord Piano 5/6 vs Yamaha CP/YC or another comparable keyboard? I usually play Jazz, pop and sometimes classical music.

Do you use 88 or 73 keys? I'm considering purchasing a new keyboard that can complement my acoustic piano and also possibly carry with me...

Hello!

The choice is mainly yours and is primarily about personal preferences, the way of working, the feel of the keyboard (it is different from each manufacturer), the perception of sound and the size of your budget.

Go through your repertoire: 88 or 73 is enough ... for classical music maybe not enough keys, but a more portable instrument. What a compromise 76 keys and suddenly we leave the current Nord offer. Etc.

Go visit a dealer to try the considered instruments with your own hands and listen to their sound. And try some Dexibell too.

I have a similar experience a few years ago when in addition to the B3 I also wanted a quality pipe organ. I touched Wersi, Hammond, Viscount and Nord where the C2D met my requirements.

I have owned all of these... what questions do you have specifically? I use an YC 88 and CP 88 at Church.. but I've also owned every model of the Piano series, and currently also have a Stage 4.

I play a NP5 73 that checks every box for me
- great immersive AP sounds with tasty side dishes
- love the portability and integrated case w/handles and wheels
- didn't miss the extra keys after a few minutes
- great AP action for a portable digital slab

I grew up playing grand and upright pianos, so I'm rather picky that way. There are plenty of great choices out there, but this is the one that worked best for me. I play it by itself as well as a great controller for the NS4C.
