Separate channels on nord 3p

Hi.
I have been trying to set each page to a different channel so I can track separately, but I cant get the nord to split the pads. I can get it all to work the way i want on global on and ch 10.
I set each pad. Global off Chanel 1-6 and created tracks in Reaper, recording midi ch 1-6 and it doesn't trigger the nord pads.
Any clue whats going on??

Hi Naughty Nord 4p,
The individual MIDI channels can only receive MIDI, not send, so MIDI can only be recorded from the global MIDI channel. Perhaps you can transform each note coming from the global MIDI channel to a new note with the same velocity, note number 60 on the desired channel (depending on the original note number).
Cheers,
Albert

Can you explain a bit more about what you mean?

Because the 3p doesn't send MIDI from individual MIDI channels, you can't record the 6 drum channels onto different MIDI tracks directly. The workaround is to somehow transform the MIDI data coming from the global MIDI channel of the 3p. Perhaps your DAW can do this, or hardware like the Blokas Midihub, or the Bomebox. You'll have to split the notes coming from the global MIDI channel of the 3p into separate MIDI channels depending on the note number, and then change the note number to 60 of all notes on all 6 tracks, the exact method depends on the DAW, MIDI plugin, or hardware.
Not sure but reading back your original post, I may have misinterpreted your initial question, if so, let me know!

Ah ok. I dont want to have to buy another midi box or splitter of sorts. And this just sounds more of a headache than its worth. Ill stick to recording it on global ch 10 hahaha.
I asked this question because I have read about people recording separate midi channels for the pads. But now that I think about it. They might mean recording the global and just seperating the toms kick and snare or whatever on different tracks and just muting the unwanted pads or erasing unwanted midi data. Would need to record 6 different tracks to capture the whole best. Ut have control of each sound for mixing and or automation.
Tha is for the response!

Yes, indeed you can do this manually too after recording, possibly the easiest..
