I’m unable to hear samples (.nsmp files) that I downloaded from the Nord Sample Library and installed on my Nord Stage 2 (I've never installed samples from the NSL before). I can see the samples in Sound Manager and on my NS2's Synth display, I just can’t hear them (but I can hear all my other samples.) I did Synth Init and Sound Init, and fiddled with other knobs to see if they were messing with the sounds, but to no avail.

I know how to download, make, and use samples in programs, and I’m able to use samples from the Nord User Forum, but why not from the Nord Sample Library? As instructed, I selected “Nord Stage 2” so that only compatible sounds are displayed for download.

I've never updated the operating system (it's still running 2012's Nord Stage 2 Revision B v1.64). Is that the issue?

Yes, if you look at NS2 update history (unfortunately removed from Nord site, but available via Web Archive here https://web.archive.org/web/20181028111 ... te-history) support for .nsmp v2 was introduced with OS 2.06

So you just have to update your NS2 to latest version and all will be OK, just do it no worries and... "may the Force be with you, always" (or was it "the Schwarz"? )

Side note: "The Schwarz" — as in F.A.O. Schwarz, the biggest toy store in the world at the time.
