Program Change and Send On Layer

I've hit a bit of a problem with the way the Wave 2 handles (or doesn't) midi program change.

I want to be able to control my Oberheim OB3 squared organ module with one layer of my Wave 2. The way I do this is to set the OB3 to midi channel 3, then I set one of the layers in the Wave 2 to channel 3. Now I can play the OB3 on certain programs, but still be able to have other layers for other sounds or samples.

Here's the problem....
I also want to use my Wave 2 as the master program change for my Moog Sub 37 and its effects unit - The Ampero II Stage. But when Global Channel is off (Send On Layer is then on), I can no longer send program change messages to the Sub 37 etc.

Am I missing something?

I'm using a CME U6Midi Pro to filter out all except program change on channel 1 (Nord and Sub 37) the filtering all except note on and off messages on channel 3. I also have an Event Processor Plus that I could use if required.

I also just read in the manual that when Global is on, the Layer Channel Settings are midi in only. That explains why they haven't been doing anything when global is on  .

Looks like I’m answering my on post then.

I sent an email to Nord and they confirm that if you want to use the Send Midi On Layers feature, you can’t use program change from the Wave 2.

Due to the lack of a midi thru, the only option in my case is to bump the Wave 2 to the end of the midi chain (or second last, before the Oberheim).
