Nord Electro 6 HP stuck in load screen

Hello guys,

I write this because I'm confused. I bought my Electro 6 HP in 2020, I've been using it without a problem, then I stored it for a year as I stopped playing. This morning I decided to set it up again and play it, but it doesnt go past the loading screen. It displays the model, the OS version, and the loading bar, but the bar is just there, empty, and nothing happens.

I've tried updating the OS, and it did let me update it, but once the update is about to finish, and it proceeds to wait until the keyboard reboots, I have the same problem: the loading bar remains empty.

The next logical step is a Factory Reset, but the Nord Sound Manager doesn't recognize the keyboard. I've already tried pressing Store + Shift buttons to put it into update mode. My computer recognizes the keyboard, but I get an error in Nord Sound Manager. Something about the file transfer, and the program not being compatible with my Nord's version (I can later attach screenshots with the specific problem).

At this point I'm completely lost. Do you have any ideas about what can be done?

How did you store the Nord over that period of time, both in terms of room condition and direction like laying, standing upwards or similar?

You might open it and check if all cables are connected correctly or loose, and if the room had a significant humidity you might remove every cable and connect it again a few times, to remove any corrosion

Sounds like a loose internal ribbon cable.

I stored the Nord in vertical position, inside of a fabric case. It was in a basement, the levels of humidity of my region (south east Spain) are normal, around 50%.

I'll try and open it. I hope that's not too difficult.

I'm back with more news.

First thing, I've been able to open the Nord. Now my problem is that I can't tell which cables are soldered and which ones are not. I attach a picture in case you could pin point which is which.

Next thing, I've been able to enter the "BIOS" (pressing Shift/Exit + KBD Split/External KBD to LO) and run a Mainboard Test. Then, I receive the error that is shown in the second picture. I hope that can be helpful, and not too difficult to fix...

Seems you already disconnected the only one I'd suggest to check, which is the flat cable connecting Mainboard to Panel board (removed in your picture).

That error message is "not nice" though: have you reassembled all and tried to boot normally?

I've connected the Mainboard to Panel board flat cable, tried to boot, and nothing happens. In fact, I've run the Mainboard test after reassembling the Nord.

Looks like you have to bring it to a Nord service center I’m afraid
