Hello,

I'm from Maurice, and I work in a car rental company here. I’m about to switch my keyboard setup to get a NORD. I initially aimed for a Nord Stage 3 Compact, but I can’t find one second-hand. I was wondering if the Stage 3 could be replaced by a Nord Electro 6D with a light touch and a Nord Lead A1?

You don't tell what you have at the moment. You don't tell how you wanted to use the NS3C. You don't tell what sort of music you are going to make. So how can we tell about the value of an alternative?

If you are deep into creating synth sounds, NE6D + NLA1 may be more than just NS3C. To me, this alternative wouldn't be worth even thinking about: It's exactly the NS3C I want to use.

Some points:
  • key action of NS3C and NE6D seem to be the same
  • NE6 has only 1 piano engine, NS3C has 2 - good for melting acoustic and digital piano into each other or fattening piano sounds with Layer Detune
  • NE6 and NS3C organ capabilities are pretty much the same in my eyes
  • NE6 has one sample engine, NLA1 is 4 part multi-timbral while NS3C has two combined sample/synth engines
  • NS3C has morph capability, NE6 or NLA1 do not (?)
  • NS3C can be used as sound generator in a dual keyboard setup by its DualKB function, NE6 has something similar with ExtKB-to-Low; no idea if the capabilities of both concepts are comparable
  • carrying and setting up one or two keyboards isn't the same
