Piano and string layering

Post by yongq »

Hi, question,
Is it possible to control the volume of the keyboard when layering grand piano with string sound together in the Nord Stage 2?
I am about to purchase the keyboard and just wanna know whether I can control the volume when layering 2 samples together.
Thanks!

Yes - Strings are part of the synth section (samples) of the keyboard. There is a volume control there. I have found a GREAT strings sample from the online library. I was able to load it into the Stage 2, using a USB cable and a laptop computer. I used the piano with strings on a gig last Sunday night, and it was fabulous. I love the Stage 2.

@deswind: What strings sample did you load?

I just ordered an NS2 76 and piano+strings is a bread-and-butter sound for me.

Thanks!

I will check and get back to you this evening. I also tweaked it (very simple) with the Synth controls - ADSR - envelope - so as to make the strings more lush, smoother rise and smoother release - made them more beautiful and I can adjust my playing style which on the fly controls how much strings versus piano sound is used.
Best,
AB

Hello!

Sorry to hijack - I'd like to know which string sample you used also as I'm about to create a piano&strings patch too

Many Thanks

Nick
