Safe to ship Nord Grand in "Pods" shipping container?

Post by HelloOatmeal »

I am about to move across country with my Nord Grand. We are using a "Pods" shipping service, where they just drop off what is essentially a small shipping container and move it for you.

Would you feel comfortable shipping a Nord Grand in that? My concerns are it getting jostled, and heat.

I suppose I am less concerned about it physically getting knocked around. I have the Nord Grand Soft Case, and I would wrap that in a couple of blankets, and maybe even put that on a foam pad.

My bigger concern is the heat. We are moving from the midwest, it's not SUPER hot where we are right now, but our destination is Texas. I don't know exactly the timeline, but I would guess we are looking at 2-5 days in the Midwest heat, 1-2 days in transit, and 2-5 days in the Texas heat.

I just have no idea how sensitive (or not) electronics like that are to this kind of moving and heat.

Any thoughts/experiences welcome, on both the potential physical danger and/or heat danger of this. I am trying to decide if I need to make other shipping arrangements for the keyboard.

Thanks!

I moved cross country several years ago using a pod. I was very cautious, so put all of my keyboards in the car. Like you, heat was my biggest concern. I figured I’m best not to take the chance.
