Dual oscillators same octave

I am a long time user of nord lead A1 and love it.
I have recently bought a nord Wave 2 and it is a fantastic synth but I'm missing one basic feature:
On my A1 I could select two oscillators and slightly detune one (pretty basic right?). When I try to do the same on my wave2 the first option is a second oscillator an octave up.
I am aware that I can use the unison feature sounds similar but it's not close enough for me, also I could use another layer but then I have one layer less for massive patches.
Am I missing something?

You're right, and that’s the result of a complete other oscillator configuration of the two instruments.
You can hope that Clavia will offer an update with additional oscillator settings like they did with the Stage 4, but I’m afraid we won’t see it.
I’m desperately waiting for a new Lead (5/A2?) that combines all the good things of the Lead 4 and A1, with a proper keybed with aftertouch, real displays and the FX section of the Stage 4.

Bummer, guess I’ll have to nag the nord people then.
Other than the fx section of the stage 4 the features you are describing is basically a wave 2

Well, the Stage 4 is basically a Wave 2 with only 3 layers. Furthermore it's missing the velocity morph and the instant morph button/function, and as a result of less physical knobs (more menu-related "soft knobs") several parameters cannot be morphed at all (e.g. envelopes).
And as mentioned before, they added the "MULTI" waveforms with an update later.
Here a quick demonstration of the "one-layer-two-oscillator"-setting:

I completely agree with you.
They should include all the oscillator configurations present in A1, with all the possibilities to mix Saw and Square waves.
I bought the Nord Wave 2 three years ago, and I'm excited about it for several reasons, but the configurations are lacking, and Nord needs to make this instrument more interesting, but above all, complete with this basic configuration.
It's not acceptable to have to use two slots to get two Saw waves with detune, especially since it leads to synchronization issues with the LFOs, which have already been extensively discussed in other threads.
