Interesting update. Now connects directly to the online library for your instrument, where you can just select the sound to download. Helps get rid of a cumbersome step, but now limits you to what is available online.

Fortunately, the old method is still there, where you can pick from your own downloaded files. I have the sample libraries going back to v1, which included all of those samples from the early Nord synths like the G2X and Lead 3. I still pick through tat stuff when searching for sounds, and the Sound Manager will convert the file.

What would be a nice upgrade is to have your file browner built in to the window instead of the extra steps to browse for the files. So that the method to access local samples is the same as now accessing the online samples.

Wondering what they mean by “legacy features”?
Will they at one point remove features to reorganize programs?! Or will those features be moved to another app??

I think it just means "not new".

Viewing dependencies and programs using a particular sample are basic core features that need to be there, and not in an external program, either.

Isn’t this the chance to finally make it universal iPad/Mac?

The Nord Sound Manager was literally the only reason I had to have my MacBook Pro along on tour last spring..

Well, I'm not able to check out v9 yet. I get the message 'virus found' when downloading.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Nope, no problems downloading with Safari on macOS 14.
Have you tried a different browser or just press “download anyway”?

I tried to download the Win-version in Chrome and Opera, same problem. No way to 'download anyway' (not to my knowledge

EDIT: Also tried another laptop. Same problem.

Yep, I keep waiting for the iPadOS solution to comfortably have it with me on stage including pre-listening capability.

Nope, downloaded and installed without any problems

NSM v9 is unfortunately still not able to be used without an instrument being connected, I continue to hope that this feature will be added at some time to load bundles into NSM and arrange samples / programs without the need to be connected to a Nord.
