Turning SPLIT on/off via MIDI
Hi,
I'm planning to control NS4 with MIDI foot controller.
I would like to have SPLIT engaged/disengaged with foot.
In manual, on MIDI control address list I can't find parameter to toggle SPLIT on/off.
Is there a way to toggle SPLIT on/off via midi?
Am I missing something?

Re: Turning SPLIT on/off via MIDI
I don't know if I've heard of split on/off as something that has a MIDI message related to it.
One workaround that comes to mind is having two programs saved next to each other, one with the split and one without the split. Then you would just change programs from one to the other via MIDI, and it would have the same result.

Re: Turning SPLIT on/off via MIDI
Thank you for reply.
I am aware of workaround, but I was hoping that I don't have to have 2 programs.
Almost always, I recall few sounds for the night and put them in LIVE, so that I can tweak sounds on spot reacting to room and the band.
I play left hand bass, and right hand everything else, there are moments that I have to turn off bas, and turn off split so that I have piano extended to lower part of keyboard, it is two click process. I can turn of bas with footswich and turn off split with my hand, but I hoped that it could be all done with foot. Scene Layer doesn't help in this situation either.
Having two programs would mean that I have to use presets, and me being me tweaking sounds as I play, switching programs would create mess in the middle of song.

Re: Turning SPLIT on/off via MIDI
If you don't want to change performance , you can put same piano sound on both layers , put one on all keyboard ( on one layer) and the other one splitted with bass ( on the other layer)
This way you "stay" in the same performance...
I often use bass with left hand but I prefer not to use live (becouse it "stays" as you left...)
I have few "bread and butter" split performances ( sometimes on three parts , bass , piano+pad , and brass or violins for phrases) and I have always a full mapped piano at a touch of a button in case I need on the fly.......(I use a performance for that....)

Shouldn't this be possible to change via layer scene? Maybe, that's what fabiokey meant as well.
I don't think there's ever been a MIDI command concerning Splits - but usually, you shoudn't need that for just switching on and off parts of the keyboard: That should be doable via '[Organ|Piano|Synth] Section Enable Scene [I|II]". I don't have a Stage 4, but that's what I'd try first. Or '.. Layer Enable Scene ..'.

Re: Turning SPLIT on/off via MIDI
Thank you all.
Yes, I’m using it as fabiokey described it. I’m just explorig if there was better way.
