Issues with portability: Could a 6D stand in for a S3?

Hi all,
I've been gigging semi regularly in New York City for a bit now on my 88 stage 3 and I'm getting a little tired of having to deal with a car. Finding parking for all the rehearsals and gigs is usually either expensive or a total pain. I'm brainstorming ways that I can create a more portable setup that's public transit friendly for rehearsals and less demanding gigs.
I make a handful of custom patches that I programed on the S3 that I use for one band in particular. If money were no issue, I'd get the S3 compact so I could still program sounds on my 88 S3 all easily transfer them. I'm wondering if I could manage with an electro 6D. I recognize there's no 1 to 1 transfer between the stage and the electro as the settings and capabilities are quite different. I'm wondering if it's possible/a good idea to create the sounds on my S3 and upload them as samples to an electro 6D? Or if I could approximate the sounds by programming on the 6D? It wouldn't have to be perfect, just close enough to work for a rehearsal.
Anyone else live in a city where it's difficult to load gear in a car and get around? Have you figured out ways to make it work on public transit? Any other tips?
I should maybe mention that I got 88 fully weighted keys because I just couldn't compromise on that for my main instrument. I'm at a point now where I'm willing to invest in some portable options for some situations.
Thank you in advance for any input.
