Hi, I just bought Roland KC-400 for my Piano 5.
Non piano sounds are OK, but Piano samples are terrible. Very dissapointed - muddy on lower end, not sounding like a piano in middle and high at all...
Tried to tweak with equalizer, little better, but still very bad...

Sorry to say, that's a terrible keyboard amp for piano sounds.

What do you want to use it for? A PA for the audience, a stage monitor box for you and the band or a home monitoring entity? For what type of room?

A PA for the audience, for smaller venues, like church or restaurant, will mostly play on my own or with a singer, but I need multiple inputs, 4 will be ok...something like KC-400, but with normal piano sounds

If you want something with an integrated mixer, in that price range, you may consider a Yamaha Stagepass 400

You will likely be happiest with a pole-style columnar speaker in mono. Bose, EV, Turbosound, RCF, etc. all make them, they have small drivers on the pole and some sort of subwoofer. A single speaker will give you crystal clear sound, wide dispersion and decent throw to the back of the room. With a bit of clever placement, you can use it as both a FOH speaker and a monitor for yourselves.

I have a very used Bose L1 Model 1S for these situations. It's brilliant for small venues (incl piano!) in restaurants, microbreweries and the like. Avoid the very low end models, like the original Bose Compact. Although I have all sorts of PA gear (insert long list here), this is the right tool for the job.

Buy a separate mixer if you can. They're inexpensive and can be found used (e.g. Yamaha MG series), and you may want to upgrade the mixer separately.

I am afraid the Bose L1 1S alone is pretty above the OP declared budget range

Thanks, my problem is that Bose L1 Model 1S with bass module is almost 3 times the price of KC-400.

This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for and a Roland KC amp will not deliver piano sounds well. If the Bose option isn't right for you, I'd recommend getting yourself into a pair of powered speakers such as QSC K8 or K10. You could start with one and save up for a second one, as monitoring in stereo is going to make a HUGE difference for you. You'd need a submixer if you're working with four inputs.
