Lead and strings need help for nord wave

Good day I recently got a nord wave first series, but I can't get convincing sounds, I have a Liam gallgher tribute band, I can use mellotrons and that's great but I'm not able to create nice powerful strings to use in pieces like "ONCE".
i would also like to recreate the lead sound of this version of Cigarettes and alcohol minute 5:41 ask if any of you could kindly help me, thank you very much
