I only need one new piano sample

Disagree if you so desire, but I want a complete new and refined set of Clavinet D6 samples. The ones we have right now are dry and lifeless compared to almost anything (in a realistic price range).

I rocked Mainstage/Logic for some time, and while it was a logistical failure, I really miss the clavinet provided by Apple. Granted it's modelled, so there is a huge ton of control over the sound, but I'd just appreciate proper dynamics and release behaviour.

I'm pretty sure Nord won't bother with this any time soon, and even if they did, it most likely would not be legacy product compatible. But that doesn't stop me from posting.

Have a great week all you Nord Nerds :keyboard:

Wasn’t aware anyone was playing clavinet anymore. It’s pretty much an artifact of its time, like the harpsichord.

I'm still tuning and playing harpsichord (a real one), so why not playing clavinet?

Like Elias, I'd love to play a nice clavinet sound with a gentle note-off pop.

I fully agree! We need a descent Clavinet!

I may be in the minority, but i like the clav set we have. A good amount of dirt and eq'ing with the wah going, and I think it sounds great. However, I seem to remember liking the Clav on my original E2 a tad more.

I use clavinet all the time, unsure why some would think it's not played anymore? Still tons of funk, fusion, even modern gospel groups using it among other styles.

I like the stock samples, however I do fully agree I wish they had release samples and some more velocity splits. However with the wah and amp sim they still do sound great, although it's always easy to hear the Nord clav in any mix, nothing else sounds like it for better or worse. It'd be nice to have a new set of clav samples for those of us who want the full experience!

Might have left it up to interpretation, but I use the Nord clavs a lot. In fact probably the first 5 programs I ever saved on my S3 were clavs through a wah. But there's a ton of room for improvement, and I'd imagine the sempling process would be on the easier side. It is an electro-mechanical instrument and not acoustic, so no worrying about mics and room.

of course no one is playing them any more. like a lot of older stuff, they're so expensive now that only collectors and studio/museums have them. I could have bought a new/old stock D6 from a music store in 1995 for $300. I snoozed and someone else got it - one of my biggest regrets in life.

Well, if anyone cares to list anything that has charted in the past 20 years with a clavichord on it, here's the place. I was referring to current artists...not aging Nordies playing covers of 70s soul tunes...
