VST similar to Nord Grand Contra Bass

When playing around with some of the pre-loaded patches in my Nord Grand, I fell in love with one that employs a split keyboard - it's labelled Contra Bass Fing Vib (lower registers) and Vibraphone (upper registers).

I'd like to use the Contra Bass sound in some Logic PRO recordings, but would prefer to use a VST rather than record the Nord output via cables.

I've found a few double bass sounds in my Logic pro library but nothing that comes close to the Nord sound. Does anyone know of a VST that might get closer to the Nord?

Hi and welcome to NUF, you can sample the Nord Grand Contra Bass sound in Logic, using Autosampler (as far as you keep it for you and don't distribute, this is legal), then use it as an EXS24 sample.

Thanks Max - have never done that but willing to learn how - will check it out.

The Nord sound reminds me of Jaco P fretless playing. Have found a few VST libraries for similar sounding fretless bass guitars that I might explore.

You could also search for some good Soundfonts and import them in EXS24 (or in any other VST that can play them, like Plogue Sforzando). On the iPad that's what I do when I need an Acoustic Bass (a Soundfont loaded on bs-16i)
