Sustain synth sound after turned off

Hello, I'm playing simple White Grand and I turn on some Strings on Synth layer A for the song chorus but want to turn the strings off again for verse 2. When I turn off the sample synth layer A it cuts off sharply and immediately but I want the currently playing sounds to decrescendo until silent but no new sounds to play. It's probably easy, thanks for your advice x

I do not own a NP, but on my NE6 I would solve this with two presets (live or permanent) - one with White Grand only an one with same White Grand plus Synth Layer. Switching between provides a transient change of the sound.

Unfortunately this is the way things work in the NP5, I also complained about this once. It’s hard to understand why programs switch seamlessly, but turning off a layer cuts it off abruptly.
In the Stage 4 it works the way one expects it, so Clavia should know how to to it. Perhaps there will be an update someday.

I use and want this also, I have a solution for both the Stage 3 and Piano 5
For me it is important to sustain the layered sound, and when the sustain pedal is pressed, the sound also must continue, even if I disable the layered sound.
Only when I release the sustain pedal the sound must stop with the remaining sustain. Never abruptly.

On the Nord Stage 3 I solved this by using the same piano on both panels:
Panel A: Piano
Panel B: Piano (little bit brighter to cut through more) + strings, Modwheel to adjust volume
The strings (or Pad) will sustain, even the sustain pedal keeps the strings when moving from panel B to Panel A

On the Piano 5 I use two way to solve this:
Solution 1: switch between two synth layers, this will keep the sustain, even with sustain pedal
- Synth Layer 1: Strings
- Synth Layer 2: any sound with volume at 0 (default on)
Solution 2: Reset Synth layer by re-pressing preset
- Synth layers: any sound, but turned of. Enable when needed, reset by pressing preset again, also sustain pedal works

hope this helps. In the beginning I also thought that the Nord Piano was not able to do this...
