Chorus pedals?

Have any of you found any good chorus pedals as an alternative to 'unison' mode? Seems like when I try a chorus plugin on my computer it sounds like ass. Wondering if a pedal would be better..?

it's going to be a slightly different sound - are you looking to 'fatten' up the sound?

Yeah, I am looking to fatten the sound. I love the Nord, but I often find myself trying to pull Juno sounds out of it. I get close, but not enough beef behind it. Would hate to blow a grand on a Juno.

Told you
there: LPB 2ube.
As far as chorus, EHX (which I certainly am a fanboy) propose
some nice stuffs, both mono and stereo.

also, don't forget about the moogerfooger cluster flux . . . amazing chorus (and flanger) pedal with delicious Moog extras.

Ooh yeah sure: this one joins the Moog drive thing and the chorus.

I know, I remember you telling me about those tube boxes. I noticed the price on those was only $200 or so, which had me a little leary of the quality. Seems like quality pre-tubes only get good around the $1,000 range. Unless the boxes your talking about are totally different than the Neves and such that i'm thinking of.
I love that chorus Juno sound, I want try and get as close as I can to that with a Nord Lead. Maybe i'm fooling myself. The guys at Gearslutz seem to think so.

Trust your ears, not the guys

You may fall onto a sound you like which is not necesarily the Juno sound. Try things until you decide it's what you want or not, whatever it is.
About the LPB, I don't want to sell you the wrong unit: this is certainly not a Neve stuff. I think it's worth the price. But being not sure, if I were you, I would find one used, and resell it if it's not for you -hence not loosing much in the process.

Might I suggest you also check out some multi-effects units? I recently got a Lexicon MX 200 and it's choruses and other effects add lots of "fatness" to the lead 2.

Gord

2 analog ones:
Roland sound wise: BOSS CE 1 classic, hard to get ;(
also very good but different sounding, less 70s more CURE like but really very fat and with great character:
Ibanez RC 99
but both are mono in / stereo out !
digital:
there's a multi fx by Korg that's quite nice and warm/fat:
Korg AM 8000 R (got also a very nice delay only sister, DL 8000 R)
and, if you find one cheap:
EVENTIDE H 3000 the old one.
super fat, super character
especially with the pitch shifting capabilities it could be just what you are looking for, if you like this character
for a nord lead 3 it could be very very good. for a nord lead 1 it could almost be over the top

but i never tried with them, maybe you would just LOVE NL1 & H3000 for MEEEEGA FATTNES
