Nord Grand with Monitor V2 against the wall

Hello!
I am thinking about getting the Clavia Nord Piano Monitor V2 for my Nord Grand.
Problem is my Nord Grand is placed against a wall. I can't figure out how much space the Clavia Nord Piano Monitor V2 need behind the instrument.
Would any owner of this combination be so kind and measure the space between rear edge instrument and rear edge monitor? Or in other words, how much more space is needed?

I really appreciate your help!

Greetings,
Linus

Hi, I don’t have the Nord Monitors but I thought of buying them for my Nord Piano 5 some time ago, too. And I had the same question as you.

Until someone replies who owns the combination Grand + Monitors, here is an interesting screenshot from a YouTube video that shows from above the monitors mounted a NP5:

Depending on the angle of the monitors they use quite a lot of space behind the piano, I guess at least 15 cm.

Probably want to add a couple inches to that so the speakers don't touch the wall and coupling with them. That will keep others in the house/apartment happy.

How about adding some wall carpet behind the speakers? something like this would absorb any sound reflection!

They stick out about 6 1/4" behind the back of the instrument.

The Nord monitors have a rear facing port, like a fair number of other studio monitors. These will couple with a close rear wall and cause a bloom in the bass. You should be able to EQ the bass level to an acceptable degree with onboard EQ however there will be some lack of definition in the lower registers.

This has actually nothing at all to do with the Nord monitors, and everything to do with this type of speaker design and their placement relative to a wall. Generally speaking monitors, particularly with a rear port should be at least 3ft away from a rear wall, and anything closer is a compromise in sound quality.

again, not a knock on Nord as its physics, not Nord, lol, and I don't need to get a pair to know that this will be the case.

regards

I don't agree with Mystic38. My Nord speakers are angled to face me and so there is no direct or perceptible reflections from my wall. The corner of each angled speaker is 3cm from the wall and the rearmost part of the Grand (stand knobs) is 13cm from the wall.
