In case you were not aware- the original Nord Triple Pedal works for all the functions listed on the NEW Triple Pedal 2. On my Stage 4, I’ve got all the functions for the middle, left, and sustain pedal listed for the NTP2- WORKING for my Original Nord Triple Pedal.

While the new Single Pedal 2 is a huge improvement over the old one (continuous pedal, pedal noise, half pedaling, usable to control morphs), I really see no reason to buy the NTP2 over the NTP1.
The only likely explanation is that this is a transition period before they equip all their pianos (Nord Stage 4, Nord Piano 6, Nord Grand 2?) with the NTP2 socket, and then discontinue the NTP1.

Time to stockpile the last NTP1s before they're gone...everybody used to complain about its absurd price, but now the NTP2 makes it look like a bargain!

It does not exactly work as the old one, at least from an electrical point of view: NTP2 has an optical system to detect pedals movement, which provides "continuous sensor for optimal dynamic control" (taken from Nord website NTP2 description),maybe not just on the right/damper pedal but on all 3 (not sure), while NTP1 middle/left pedals are on/off and damper is stepped (5 possible values, since it has 2 dual switches closing in a sequence).
