NS4 Restore Factory Presets

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a way to restore the factory Organ, Piano and Synth presets without doing a full Factory Restore.
I have unintentionally saved over some of the presets and would like to recover the originals without having to factory reset and restore all my programs and samples afterwards.
(The same question could be asked for the factory programs, by the way)
Thanks!

Rename the NS4 Factory Restore file to .zip and unzip it

.. and then use the Nord Sound Manager to delete the old stuff and drag & drop in the factory presets / programs.
NSM will tell you if you have any presets or samples missing.

After following the guidance above, it might be worth the time to do a full backup of your NS4. Whenever you use Nord Sound Manager to upload or download files, the files are also saved in a cache folder on your laptop to speed up the backup process the next time you create a backup. It's a long process the first time, but only a matter of minutes for subsequent backups. Good luck!

I have accidentally overwritten the factory presets when I intended to only SAVE a PROGRAM. I found I need to remember to press ESC to exit out of PRESET select mode before pressing SAVE to save a program. I love the presets, but it does make it more complicated than the NS3. 2 months in, I'm still missing the SONG mode of NS3

I just downloaded the latest .NS4b Factory Restore on my Mac and renamed it to .zip and when I click on it, I get a message (Error 79 - Inappropriate file type or format)?
What am I doing wrong?

Right - sorry. The standard unzip-tool of macOS won't do that. You need an additional one. I am using "The Unarchiver" from Mac App Store. Just do a right-click and select Open with - The Unarchiver.

Thanks, it worked!

Yes, exactly how I overwrote my presets too - this is a new workflow that I still have to get used to.

Thanks for the warning. This seems to be more complicated than the workflow of the NS3 where saving a program and saving a synth preset are separate actions. Is it possible this is a bug?
