Where are the WarmPad/SoftPad sounds? I cannot find…

Hey guys!

Probably a stupid question… I’ve upgraded my Stage 3 to Stage 4, and I simply cannot find/access my BELOVED ‘WarmPad/SoftPad’ sounds/layers… I can see the sound ‘Warm pad/Softpad’ at some programs (as 101 WarmPad). But when I have like a basic programme, say with Whitegrand XL - and I go to synth section, I cannot find/scroll to these sounds. I’ve looked everywhere ‘synth sec’, analogue/samples. Where are these sounds in Stage 4? Was so easy to find in the Stage 3. What am I missing here?

Do I need to download Sound Library 3.0 to get/find these - or how do I find WarmPad/Softpad again?

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

There are lots of pads in the synth presets which you can load as multipart preset by pressing SYNTH PRESET or a single part preset by pressing SHIFT + SYNTH PRESET. Change the preset category to PADS and scroll through the presets. My favourite is Silk Pad.

I’ll try!

I also made a new warm pads library using my own custom samples. If it’s helpful or you are interested, feel free to reach out. Here is a demo.

Great Sounds!. Are all of the presets using only your custom samples or the synth also. Do these presets also include morphs and effects? Are the filters or resonance assigned to the mod wheel or are you manually adjusting in the video?

Thanks! I know we corresponded via email already, but I’ll answer here as well. The sounds in the video, are presets which I created using only custom samples from my library. I have not assigned morphs to them, except one sound does have the mod wheel adjust filter cutoff. The rest, I simply used the filter knob itself for the demo. These presets make use primarily of the hall and cathedral reverbs, as well as a HPF in the effects section.

I'm really enjoying your pad sounds. Thanks!

This is another type of sound design which would greatly benefit from ADSR envelopes. Currently, since we only have ADR envelopes, you have to create pads where there is no decay after the attack stage... to keep them sustaining. For soft pads, ideally, you want a nice attack/swell phase, followed by a medium decay period, where the filter/amp settles with a sustain amount lower than max... every warm pad / soft pad I design on other synths uses this type of approach with a decay into sustain phase.

ADSR is present on Wave 2 synth engine... Stage 4 synth section is based on this engine... not sure why the sustain stage was left out of envelopes, but if it can be added in firmware, that would greatly increase the utility/capabilities of the synth section... it would make creating warm/soft pads much easier (plus better synth brass, strings and other sound designs)

I don't care if its buried in a menus somewhere... having access to env sustain levels would be greatly appreciated. Please Nord, consider for firmware update :)
