Hi all. I have an E6D with a Roland A800-Pro external midi keyboard. I have it working, but I am having trouble setting up the knobs and drawbars on my a800 (e.g. to control rotary speed, drive, organ drawbars). The E6 is receiving midi messages, but nothing happens. Is there anyone that has it set up properly and is willing to share their a800 .mid file with me?

Any other tips also welcome. Thanks, highly appreciated.

Are they both on the same midi channel? Since the E6D is receiving midi data (short blinking is that it receives midi data but doesn't process it - a longer "blink" is that is should react to the midi data).

Hi and welcome to NUF!

You need to reconfigure the MIDI CCs sent by the A800 faders/knobs etc... best if using the Roland A-Pro Editor on a computer (visual, pretty easy to use); assign each control based on the MIDI CC list that you can find in the appendix of NE6 manual (for example the 9 drawbars are CC17-24) and you are done.

If someone already did he/she could share his .mid syesx file, but otherwise it is a 15mins work you can do yourself (and do the mapping s you like it best ).

I quote this. Use the Roland Editor and you can program it much quicker and more thoroughly.

Thanks for tour replies. I did all this. They’re on the same channel and I am using the editor.

The volume control works, but the drawbars and some other effects not. So therefore looking for someone to share their file so I can see how they did it. Loads of people must have gone through this I assume. Thanks!

Check System Menu. Is the E6 set to receive/transmit CC messages? Also check you are sending CCs on the Global Channel not the Ext Channel. That chamnel is used for Note and Pitch Bend messages only.

Yes! Yes, that's it. I changed the CC messages to channel 1 (notes are on channel 16) and now it works. Makes no real sense to me, but whatever it works. Thanks a million.
