File Viewer--not quite capturing the program

Hello,
I'm using the NS3 File Viewer, and even on the NS3 itself I'm not fully capturing the original sound. Has anyone experienced this? I wanted to try to recreate the sound on the NS4, so I created a new patch on both NS3 and NS4 and went step by step. The sounds are close on the NS3, but I"m not experiencing the richness and depth of the patches on the NS4. Still, I was wondering if people have had issues recreating sounds on the NS3 with the File Viewer.

Hi-
The file viewer is a great tool, but I think it was designed to get you close enough so that you were not starting from scratch. The hardware is different, so just inputting the same NS3 parameters will not result the same exact sound. You will need to use your ears to tweak the sound to your liking-

But I mean even trying to replicate on the NS3 where it came from...have you had any issues with that?

I am sorry, I don't get it: if you have the .ns3p and you need to "replicate " it in an NS3, why don't you just download it to the keyboard?

I don’t get it either, but that’s a different story I think.
You should get the exact same sound if you rebuild a program on the SAME NS3 where it came from originally. If you rebuild it on another NS3 I would check if for example the OS version is different from the original NS3, if all general settings are the same, if the attached amplification is the same etc. - all of this may have an impact on the outcome

I know I SHOULD have the same sound on the same instrument, but that's not what's been happening. Have you tried it and it came out exactly the same? The reason I did it was that I wanted to do it anew on both the NS3 (from where the sound came from) and the NS4 step by step to see where sounds differed as I added each element. Then I ended up not achieving the same sound on the NS3, which surprised me. Maybe I just have to do it again, but I thought I would see if others had the same result.

I never tried it. But you don't give a lot of information about what you were doing.
Are samples implied? Do you have the same samples installed?

File Viewer is just displaying the parameters of a program file (Stage 2 and Stage 3).
Replicating to another model may lead to not exactly the same sound (Synth engine obviously, but also some parameters that are not available on both models). But basically, again apart from the Synth engine, you'll get 90% common parameters, and this really helps converting quickly !

Could you share the NS3 program file? If the issue is the file viewer would be good to know what exact parameter is wrong in the viewer. Thanks.

OK, got it
Did you copy only the Synth part or all the NS3 settings, including Effects (including compressor and Reverb) that can make quite a difference (and for example things Vibrato rate and amplitude are a Global setting, so not saved in the Program); if you copy only the Synth parameters of course you may be missing something important.
+1 on florence request to share the file here to allow to check if it is not a bug in File Viewer
