Stage 4 Rattle noise under keybed

Hi all. I’m new to the Nord family. Always wanted one finally bought a Electro 6 Aug 22 then when I saw the stage 4 was coming had to jump on it.

I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday when preparing for a gig I lifted my keyboard to put it in its case and rotated it so the left side was was facing the ground. That when I heard something slide and rattle inside. It hasn’t affected functionality but I’m not impressed that something maybe under the Keybed is moving or loose.

Anyone else found this yet? Should I report to Nord or try and exchange?

I'd report to the national distributor - it's their business to get issues like that cleared. You'll find the address on the Nord web site.

I'd report it to Nord and get with the dealer/distributor right away to have it looked at. Good luck to you!

Edit: FZiegler quicker on the draw again :)

Is it the 73 compact?

Then check this post, might be the same:

Turn the board on its side, and then look with a flash light in the gap next to the last key

You can very very easily open any of the models and remove whatever it is. I had this happen with a Stage 3 88, Paint 3, 4, and Stage 3 compact 2 different times. These instruments are built very very well, and a stray piece of plastic (likely dislodged during shipping from the key-bed itself) are in no way harmful to the keyboard, but you will want to remove it so it doesn't get stuck under a key or on top of a contact. I have replaced many keys, contact strips, and various parts in almost all the Nord line, and I can tell you this is a very simple task, and virtually undetectable if you are careful.

Opening it would void the warranty, on a new (and expensive) instrument it is better to contact the distributor as already suggested

Opening it will not void the warranty.

Are you sure? In Italy it would, by all means, maybe local legislations/distributors have different policies?

I think you're wrong, opening WILL usually void the warranty unless the vendor confirms otherwise. I would never open an instrument being under warranty as long as the vendor or service center does not ask me to do so and confirms that warranty will not be impacted by this.

This may vary from market to market but I in general manufacturers can not void warranty if a device is opened. But they can void warranty if the device is damaged due to unauthorized repair attempts. In USA opening is allowed, check this: https://www.ifixit.com/News/11748/warra ... re-illegal
