Coming from NS2ex I’m thrilled with my new NS4!

Today I upgraded the OS to 0.98.
On the synth section you have a button called Waveform and underneath it says ‘keep edits’.
The manual doesn’t say anything about it (not that I could find).

When you keep the button pressed for about 2 seconds the led turns on.
When changing waveforms it will keep the synth settings as they are, well I think that’s the point of the button.
But I can’t get the light to turn of. Even rebooting the NS4 doesn’t affect it. It stays on all the time.

I didn’t test this on 0.96.

Can anyone shine a light on this?

While waiting for a NS4 owner response, maybe try holding the shift button while holding the other to turn it off. Just a guess...

Thanks but no, with the shift button it sound-inits the synth layer. Should have mentioned that I tried that.

The Manual says:
to load samples without their preset settings – keeping all Synth parameters unchanged – hold down the Waveform button while turning the Sample dial, as indicated by the KEEP EDITS label.

I missed that in the manual. Thanks.
But now the question is, how to turn it off.

No, the light (keep edits) stays on. It only turns off when selecting another menu option, like the arp menu.
When exiting that menu the keep edits light turns on again.

Interesting. With the Stage 3 the only way to load a sample with preset settings without Sound Manager is by selecting the sample using the synth presets dial (clarified in a panel labeling revision), as loading samples using the OSC1 dial will not load the preset settings or store the sample name in a field used by the NS3 Program Viewer.

Have you tried saving the program being edited? Sounds like a potential bug, perhaps someone with an earlier OS version can try turning it on and off.

Saved the program, but light stays on.
I think it’s a bug, but maybe I’m wrong. That’s why I’m checking with you guys.
